A busy October and the Freshman lead NK into the championship season

Patrick is a true skipper.

The guys hanging out after a long run with Keven.

                                                           Jack I. with the bass.

We've seen this before but it's worth a second look.

Emma is all set for dinner.

Panera is good!!!

Wearing a cape on this team demands respect.

Where's Ashley?

Working the water stop in Gansett.

Noah's dad makes the day with the hot dog smoker!!

The NK parents getting it done.

We got this!!!!

YES!!!

Sneakers the cat relaxes in a drawer just a few miles from the water stop.

Darth Maul relaxes (for him) a long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away.  Thank goodness for that!

Hot dogs are ready!!

MoBrien Proposes.  She says YES!!

Sam hiding.

Mobrien uses his powers of the mind to overturn the water table.

The Freshman girls are ready to go at the Freshman State Meet.

Some of the upperclass girls and guys were on hand to cheer on the younglings.

Lila sees the camera.

The girls get out fast.  Lily sits back behind the leaders early on.
Here we see Lily followed closely by Keara a quarter mile into the race.
Lily patiently sits back in fourth position early on.

In the second half of the race Lily put on a show leaving the competition and building a 3 second lead. The girls would finish in third as a team.  Julia looks on with a big smile.

In the boy's race Sam is out in front from the gun.
JP Battling for second.

The NK coaching staff knew that JP would be up there.  He ended up finishing in third with a gutsy performance.  The NK boys finished in third place on the day as a team.
Most would think that Sam was checking his pace but the truth is he wanted to make sure he got home in time to finish his homework.

Sam finished in first place by a minute. This picture was taken on the final stretch as he heads toward the finish.

This is the first time in NK's history that two individual champions in the freshman state meet from NK won in the same year.  Congratulations Sam and Lily!!!
