Ocean State XC Invitational

One of the favorite meets of the year for the NKXC team features great competition against teams from all over including one from Ireland in Goddard Park.

The NKXC team had the opportunity to host the team from Ireland for a pasta dinner the night before the meet.  The Spitalnic's opened up their home to our guests and a great time was had by all who attended.  One of our NKXC athletes (see below) brought the two teams together.

Flickerball at Wilson Park

Flickerball is an ancient custom of NKXC athletes.  There is even a rumor that George Washington jumped into a game once while on his way to a meeting in Boston shortly after the Constitution was signed.

Below are some pictures from modern times or today to be more specific.

Everyone keep RUNNING!!!!

Stephanie throwing the ball into play

Erin McManus making a difficult reception.

Defense!!!   Wait, they are not running!!! That's a penalty lap!!!

The Jamestown connection!  We see the ball in mid flight going from Brad Gaudreau to James Lawless.

The afternoon sun made its presence felt as the game progressed.

OK.  Game over!!  It's time to run home!!

The CVS Downtown 5k

Every year the North Kingstown boys and girls teams travel up to Providence to help out with the US Track and Field road 5k national championship

Later after their volunteering efforts they gather together to take part in the "inspirational" 3k race through the streets of Providence in costumes.  This year's theme with the girls was "cones" and with the guys it was "construction workers"

The spirit award was given to North Kingstown for the first time this year for their costumes and enthusiasm.

Lazer Gate - Fall River

Some members of the NKXC team gathered in Fall River to play a game of lazer tag.   This game is designed for skilled, agile, and intelligent competitors.  Looks like our group was up for the challenge.

Here we see members of the team after a grueling game of lazer tag

Hmmm....  I'm not sure why anyone would think that was a thru - way.  I'm also not sure why the police should take notice.  Good find kids!!
