Volunteer Day at the CVS Downtown 5k

The NKXC team has been busy lately and today was no exception at the CVS Downtown 5k National Championship.  The team helped guide and cheer on the children in the kid's races and then went on to jog the "inspirational" 3k race.

Some of the best runners in the country were on hand to run and also were available to meet for some of the team.

What's Happening in NK

The great thing about being on the XC team is that you can be
yourself and not worry about what others think

Burlington Invitational

The North Kingstown Cross Country Team made the trip up to northern Vermont to compete in the Burlington Invitational where they competed against the best teams from the Vermont region.

The girls varsity team were narrowly beaten by a strong Essex team by three points and the guys came out in fifth place despite being shorthanded.

The girls are ready to leave school!!

The guys are posing at the first rest stop on the way.

I think the guys are advising Nick to leave the apple.  Coach T explains that they do not know where it has been but I think the guys were more worried about where it might be going.  It could also be they are trying to figure out how to negotiate obtaining the larger van from the girls.

He does!!  Pure guts and determination.

The girls get a great start

Up the hill they go forming a lead pack in the varsity race is Bethany, Emma, Alanah, and Izzie. Caroline, Allie and Kate are close behind.

Bethany in a sprint finish places 2nd overall with Emma in 7th.
