Desert 5k

For some it was their first ever practice in the desert.  For all it was their first practice of the year there.

So running the most difficult 5k that we know of on the first day of training there wasn't easy but those that took part were clearly up for the challenge.

The course changed this year and was officially measured.  With the additional hill that you have to run twice it would seem that the race times would be slower.  But this week's race day offered perfect conditions and some great competition.

Sam Toolin would set the boys course record with a time of 23:16 and Bethany Nunnery for the girls with a time of 28:08.   These are impressive times for this course.
